Hi,I am BH customer, now Spectrum since takeover and have been having tons of issues with connectivity. Internet would drop for hours every other day or so. This started after the takeover.never had an issue before.

At Spectrum support request I went an swapped out modems. This is where it gets weird.
Previously I had an Ubee. They gave me an Arris TG1682. I have an internal Netgear nighthawkrouter, so the first thing I did was set the Arris to bridge mode and turn off all the wifi, firewall, etc.

So my netgear could handle.Now anytime I download a torrent (my work uses torrent to dist files), my download speed drops to nothing then stops completely. The netgear wifi router looses its WAN IP (goes to 0.0.0.0), then Arris is resetting (without rebooting because its uptime doesnt reset on the Status page). I know this because its disabled Wifi comes back up temporarily and bridge mode it disabled (i can see it pass/assign a 192.168.x.x IP to the WAN side of my netgear).
After a few minutes bridge mode on the Arris comes back and Arris wifi goes away. Then I reboot my Netgear and it pick up proper WAN IP and all works fine (as long as I have stopped the torrent).I have tried limiting bandwidth and clients down to 50. Still kills it.I know this has to be something on the Arris TG1682, as I have changed nothing internally. I turned off all the firewall,upnp,ipsec/pptp passthrough.Any ideas from anyone on how to fix this would be great. All i get from Spectrum is the standard 'sent a signal, have you rebooted it, go swap it out, or youll need an appointment'. I am really, really unhappy with Spectrum takeover of BH as I never had a single issue in the 5 years i had BH at this house.Thanks for any input!

DSLreports lists the as a Puma6-powered gateway. The dropped packets and latency spikes at speeds above 100 Mbps may slow down torrents, but I wouldn't expect them to cause reboots. This sounds like a defective gateway, maybe one someone else returned.Don't argue with Charter for modem swaps, not when your job requires a good connection. Troubleshooting with Charter can take a long time and multiple service appointments, some of which they might not show for.Buy a CM600 of your own, and forget about this problem.
